Rose water contains 0.1% rose oil (Rosa damascena oil), which as a building block of rose water contains a bouquet of over 50 water-soluble substances: Phenylethyl alcohol, Polyphenols, Citronellol, Geraniol, Nerol and others. The rose water obtained from the distillation of rose oil has been used in cosmetics, medicine and perfumery since ancient times.
